I am a tourist and I came to toronto to go to a night club one night a year or 2 back.
This was my very first time on the TTC
I took the Subway and then a bus to get to where I was going
I was with a native torontonian who knew where they were going so there were no problems getting there! I suppose because there was no interaction between the Bus driver and us
I had to leave the club early and had catch a bus back
Not being from the city I asked the driver as I got on the bus which stop I needed to get off at to be able to enter the subway to get back to union
He told me he would let me know when we got to that street and asked me to sit at the front of the bus
So I did
So a few stops went by and he didnt tell me to get off and I knew it was close to the time when the last train to the last bus was going to be leaving
I asked the driver if the stop was coming soon and he replied we passed it you missed it.
I said you said you were going to tell me when it was! and he said I should know my own stop
I got off at the next stop and tried to run back to the subway ( 2 or 3 city blocks)
So this story has no happy ending .
I missed the train and missed my bus and ended up stranded in the train station and I had NO IDEA where I was and NO IDEA how to get home
The maitenance in the building did not speak english and could not help me but made it clear they wanted me to leave the station as i was standing out side of the closed convinience store with no where to go
I was so upset... thank god it was summer time or else i would have ended up freezing to death probably
So hey MR.BUS DRIVER thanks for making my first trip to toronto a terrible expirience i will never forget
3 words from him would have been all that was needed to help a lost tourist
(By the way I left in plenty of time to catch the 3rd last bus but because we passed the stop by atleast 5 stops and i had to try to back track sprinting it took an extra half an hour or so)
AND also i was 17 at the time, thank god again i didnt get kidnapped or raped or anything else like that
This is 100% true story of my very first TTC expirience, thanks for nothing

This kind of experience for a
This kind of experience for a visitor stick for a long time and will get passed on and tarnish the TTC reputation and associated with visiting Toronto. This lady should have taken the bus number, route name and time and reported it to the TTC complaint department.TTC management should follow up with customer complaints.
Bad employees should be weeded out but the their union leader makes excuses for these bad workers. Therefore it is TIME FOR A NEW UNION LEADERBAD.Bad employees cost the system a lot.TTC management should know what is legitimatize complaint and what is trivial.
