It is necessary to view the breakdown in order to understand your category. This is essential to fulfill your everyday needs for transportation by saving some money.

As per the Toronto Transit Commission, an adult is a person between 13 and 64 ages. An adult is not attending a high school. A student as per TTC is anyone who is of age range 13 and 19. This person is a full time high school, intermediate or elementary student in Toronto, Halton, Durham, York or Peel. The student category also includes those who are home schooled. It also includes the students who live in Toronto but attends school outside the region. The students are given discounted ride. They are provided with a TTC student discount card. This card should be shown every time they ride through TTC. Those who are post secondary students though are not qualified for such discounted card. They can obtain the benefit of the volume incentive pass program that is provided by several colleges and universities of Toronto.

A senior person as per TTC is a person who is aged above or equal to 65 years. A senior citizen has to prove the age whenever they are riding through the TTC. If not, then they will have to pay the rate that is applicable for adults. The seniors can use their driver’s license with a photo on it to show the proof of their age. They can also obtain the TTC photo ID provided by TTC.

Children are also provided discounted rates for traveling with TTC. The age criteria for children are from 2 and 12 years. TTC has provided such children with the Child Proof of Age card. This card is useful when a child is of the older range. The older age may create a doubt with the TTC operators since they can look old enough to be a child. However, toddlers and babies under 2 years of age can be given free rides with TTC.

In order to use the day pass for traveling with TTC services, you need to understand the basics. The day pass can be best suitable to those who wish to enjoy a day all over the city. It is also best for those who have errands to run. The pass also allows you to take kids, teens and friends along with you during the statutory holidays and weekends. During the weekdays, the TTC day pass can be used by a single rider. This is to avail the services through regular routes from the start of the day until early morning the next day.
