The token system is antiquated. The TTC should have a two hour ticket so that people who live downtown can run errands without having to pay an outrageous return price of $5 (cost of two tokens). Also, the metropass should be made cheaper than paying two tokens per workday during one month. That way, people living in the suburbs who use the TTC for commuting to work can simply purchase a monthly pass instead of fumbling with tokens.
I know that abolishing the token is going to mean an infrastructural change in terms of the ticketing system, but we must start somewhere in terms of improving the system. It is unfortunate that money was wasted on creating a new token just a few years ago. The current situation is just not working.
